Happy Cup

Happy Cup

While taking photos of residents being served afternoon snacks, I heard a caregiver tell a wheelchair bound lady that she will go get "The Happy Cup". She went away for a minute or two and came back with a red cup featuring a gigantic heart on it. She then proceeded to fill it with tea and gave it to the obviously happy smiling resident. It is a small gesture. It only took a minute but the effect is obvious to anyone watching. JOY! The thing is, something like this is not unique at Villa Cathay. It happens all the time, in different parts of Villa Cathay, to different residents. I have not experience anything like this in any other senior care homes. That is why I am PROUD to be part of the Villa Cathay family.
